How long have you worked at Elle A. Design and what is your role?
Lindsey - I brought Elle A. Design to life back in 2008 when I graduated from Bowling Green State University – so that puts me at 18 years working here as the creative director / designer since day one.
Chelsea - I’ve officially been part of the team since October 2017, which means I’m coming up on 9 years here. I currently serve as the lead designer on the team.
Lane - I’ve been working here for almost 7 years now, and before that I was the first official Elle A. Design intern. I’m a designer, as well as our photographer and videographer.
What's been one of your favorite projects you've worked on?
Lindsey - I have countless projects that I’ve loved over the years, but a more recent project that I would call my favorite is designing the Legado Brazilian Jiu Jitsu logo. This one pulls on my heart strings a little bit because the owner came to us with his story, and we created a logo for him that my husband and son would eventually be wearing when they decided to join the team. I love getting to see the logo on apparel, signage, etc. – and I love the pride that the owner has for the logo and branding.
Chelsea - There have been many great projects over the years that I have been so proud to be involved in. One that I'm constantly reminded of is the mural project that the Logan County Visitors Bureau hired us to partner with them on. We got to make murals depicting landmarks from all over the county and they really highlight all the reasons I love living and working here.
Lane - One that comes to mind right away is the video we created for the West Liberty Fire Department’s 100th anniversary. We pushed ourselves both creatively and technically, and we were all so excited to highlight such an awesome aspect of our community. I think the outcome was better than any of us imagined!
What are some of your favorite hobbies?
Lindsey - Some of my favorite things to do are gardening, working in my flower beds, and I love watching my kids do the things they love – Beckett (9) playing soccer, baseball, and jiu jitsu, and Mayzie (3) playing with her babies. One of my all-time favorite hobbies while in Florida (we typically make a couple trips a year) is shark tooth hunting.
Chelsea - I have endless hobbies and you can always find me taking on something new, usually with my husband, Ethan. Currently we are into gardening and growing our vegetables in the summer. We also love to thrift, explore farmers markets, and discover new coffee shops. When that all doesn’t keep me busy enough, I love to cross stitch, sew, read, and plan parties!
Lane - I am definitely a hobby collector… I have too many things I love to do and want to try. Right now, my favorite hobbies include reading, being outside (hit me up for some pickleball or volleyball if you don’t care how bad I am), and watching a good soccer or hockey game. I also am a huge traveler – I love experiencing other cultures, trying delicious food, and appreciating God’s creation.
If Elle A. Design opened a second location, where would you want it to be?
Lindsey - I’d love for it to be somewhere along Florida’s central Gulf Coast, where the weather stays warm most of the year and life feels a little slower and lighter. There’s just something about being near the water that instantly feels peaceful to me - the sunsets, palm trees, salty air, and laid-back atmosphere make it my happy place… and honestly, I just might try to make it a reality someday.
Chelsea - If we had a second location, I would choose Dayton, Ohio (or the surrounding areas). This is where I went to college and fell in love with the city. Plus, my sister lives nearby so I could see her more and grab lunch with her.
Lane - To no one’s surprise – Alaska! I make frequent trips to visit my best friend and enjoy the most beautiful place on earth, often working remote for part of my trip. While the 4 hour time difference isn’t ideal, there’s nothing quite like stepping outside in the middle of the work day for a mountain-viewing break. If you ask me, we’ll have an “Elle A. Design 2.0” in Alaska by 2030.
What’s something you’re involved in outside of work?
Lindsey - I’m the Secretary of the LoCo Kids Foundation, and I’ve had the absolute privilege of helping shape much of the creative vision and marketing behind The Imaginarium - a future children’s museum we hope to bring to the heart of downtown Bellefontaine.
This project is so much bigger than a building. It’s about creating a place where kids can laugh, explore, learn, dream big, and simply be kids. A place where families make memories together and our community feels even more connected.
Getting to use my creativity to help tell this story and rally people around something so meaningful has been incredibly special. There’s just something magical about watching a small town come together to build something beautiful for the next generation.
Chelsea - I started a book club with my friend, Ashley, and we meet once a month. It is called Mingle and Mugs Book Club and it is a unique type of book club where we don’t all read the same book each month. Most months we have a theme like “Something with a pink or red cover” or “Read a book about food”. Once a year we all read the same book and then watch the movie adaptation together and discuss the differences. We often do a book related craft, have snacks that are on theme for the month, and all share our thoughts over a mug of tea or coffee. It has been a great way to make friends and broaden my horizons when it comes to the types of books I am reading.
Lane - Jesus Christ is the most important thing in my life, so I love being involved in my church. Over time, God has given me a love for his people and for his church – both locally and around the world. I love learning and growing alongside other believers, and have experienced how God can use someone as imperfect as me to serve others for His glory. He is where the joy is!
What’s one of your favorite books, movies, or tv shows you would recommend to someone?
Lindsey - One of my favorite tv series of all time is Mad Men – a drama series set in the 1960’s, in a New York advertising agency. The show isn’t just about advertising - it’s really about people and relationships. It’s creative, emotional, beautifully shot, and full of interesting characters trying to figure out life, success, and who they are during a changing time in history. If you love storytelling, branding, design, or character-driven shows, it’s so good…
Chelsea - One of my favorites books I would recommend is Tress of the Emerald Sea by Brandon Sanderson. It is one of the first books that made its way through almost every reader in our book club and opened me up to the fantasy genre. If you are already into fantasy, I would recommend The Sword of Kaigen by M.L. Wang. It was my top read of 2025!
My favorite movie is A League of Their Own. If you have made it this far in life and haven’t seen it, it is a must watch. The women this story was based on are amazing.
My all-time favorite TV show is Bob’s Burgers, and I would recommend it to anyone. It is hilarious, heartwarming, and just so much fun. It has a cult following and those who love it love it hard. The voice actors are all amazing and the Belcher family is loveable, quirky, flawed, and so relatable.
Lane - I would recommend one of my all-time favorite books, The Sword of Kaigen by M.L. Wang. I’m easily pleased with an epic fantasy, but even a year after reading this book, I still think about it all the time. Even if you’re not into fantasy, I think you’ll love this book. Told from the perspective of a mother and her son, the story follows a legendary warrior family as war hits their empire. It explores sacrifice, regret, grief, purpose, and has the best character work I’ve ever read. Flawless. A masterpiece. 10/10. No notes.
